In the NFL you spend the time to research the draft, interview kids, watch them work out, talk to them more than a few times, and then when it’s time to trade them, or you don’t feel like paying them anymore, you trade them for a 3rd and a 5th. Antonio Brown, who can be a pain in the neck, is probably being traded from the Steelers to the Raiders for just that. Imagine the Tampa Bay Lightning trading Steven Stamkos for that? While he can still play and still dominate on the ice? This is the difference between the NFL and NHL I suppose.
